We are thrilled to collaborate with one of Cleveland’s hidden gems; Frederick.
Recorded after the highly acclaimed hit single ‘Gentle (Calling Your Name)’ and self titled LP from 1985, we proudly present two slices of sublime soul music!
Ki is one of the most phenomenal artists of the 21st Century. This gifted and powerful author, singer, songwriter and poet of truth has given us a CD that defies categorization. Some would call it Gospel and others musical dramatization… others just hear music. But most call it brilliant.
We Got A Sweet Thing Going On Volume THREE Catalogue #SJCD5014
The third volume of our “We Got A Sweet Thing Going On” series returns with yet another esoteric mix of sweet and group harmony soul. This compilation features both sides of The Scott Three’s in demand rarity “Running Wild (Ain’t Gonna Help You)/Gotta Find A New Love” they are joined by fellow Georgian Robert Montgomery (check out his two recent Soul Junction 45’s) with his previously unissued recording “Love Song About You”. The City of Brotherly Love is heavily represented in this compilation with acts such as The Toppiks with both sides of their desirable Larsam 45 “Give It A Chance To Grow/Surrender” and their previously unissued track “Win All Your Love” a recent release on a Soul Junction 45 (SJ1009) as the flip to The Cooperettes version of the same song, a double dose of Philly soul heaven.
This is the second production in the pipeline we have mutually set up with master Rob Sevier at Numero Group. Like all the raw material we have lined up to this project, this recording comes from a reel tape and look, the original demo version (B side, 2nd half of the video) is a 75 bpm example of what soul vocals are all about, Depth & Vibe Inc.
CBLL016 – “You came into my life” (Cannonball Records) 7′
The story goes like this. Many years ago Dave Thorley was mooching round in the basement of Ernest Kelly in Detroit and came across a bunch of acetates. Most of them were 10” acetates from his Geneva releases, plus a few others including a five track 12” acetate credited to Andrew Smith.
Featured Track: "CORD7006 f 'Signs Of A Dying Love" (Unreleased Version)"
Release Date: Monday 29th January 2017
Our sixth release is two previously unreleased versions of ‘Signs Of A Dying Love’ with the A side being much slower in tempo than the vinyl release on OTB Records. Whilst on the flip the song appears to be the same as the OTB records version, but without the spoke rap at the beginning. This is a timeless piece of soul music that deserves a wider audience.
This is available for pre-order and is a Love Vinyl DRS Ltd distribution title.
Featured Track: "CORD7005 "Running Back To You"/Give Me Your Love" 7'"
Release Date: Monday 29th January 2017
Our fifth release is the Las Vegas Connection, who were a New Orlean band from the 1970s that released two singles on Senator Jones ‘Hep Me.’ This will be a limited press of 500 units only which has been licensed through Warren Hildebrand and Mardi Gras Music. ‘Running Back To You’ is a glorious soulful dancer that has received plays in recent years on the rare soul scenes across the globe. On the flip is the uptempo disco grooved ‘Give Me Your Love’ with a luscious vocal delivery from Jackie Pettis.
When I finally tracked down Herby, I was thrilled that he agreed to collaborate with IZIPHO SOUL.
This Modern Soul masterpiece, reissued on vinyl for the first time, has and always will be, one of the rarest of it’s genre. Remastered to perfection and sounding as good as the day it was born!
Featured Track: "You Make Me Weak/I’m So Glad (That I Met You) SJ539 (Soul Junction) 7"

There were several groups within the Detroit music scene that shared the name of ‘The Holidays’. From the 1950’s through to the late 1960’s our version of The Holidays who took their name from a group members car, a 1954 Oldsmobile ‘Holiday’, would record for the Star-x, Markie, Master and Holiday record Labels. Founding member James Holiday would also briefly pursue a solo career with releases on the Markie, Syco and Blue Rock labels respectively.
